Türkiye has become one of the important production centres for commercial kitchen equipment, especially stainless steel fabrication: work tables, sinks, hoods, refrigeration, cooking lines and doner equipment. For buyers in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia, it combines competitive prices with relatively short shipping distances. Importing is straightforward when you check a few technical and commercial points in advance.
Why buy from Türkiye?
- Strong stainless steel manufacturing base with experience in custom sizes
- Competitive pricing compared with many Western European producers
- Geographic position between Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia, with sea, road and air connections
- Wide choice — from standard catalogue items to fully custom kitchen projects
- Deep know-how in regional equipment such as doner grills, kebab grills and charcoal ovens
Technical checks before you order
Electrical supply
Türkiye uses 230 V / 50 Hz, like most of Europe. If your country uses 110–120 V or 60 Hz, confirm that each appliance is built for your supply — motors, compressors and timers are affected by frequency, not only voltage. For heavy equipment, confirm whether it needs single-phase or three-phase power.
Gas type
Gas appliances are set up for either natural gas or LPG, and gas pressures differ between countries. Tell your supplier which gas you use and the supply pressure, so the correct injectors (jets) are fitted or supplied. Conversion must always be carried out by a qualified gas technician.
Certification and standards
- For the European Union, equipment normally needs CE marking and the related declaration of conformity.
- Other markets may require their own certificates or local approvals.
- Ask for the documents you need before production starts.
Plugs, languages and labels
Check plug types, and whether manuals and rating plates are required in a specific language in your country.
Commercial terms: understanding Incoterms
Incoterms define who pays for and is responsible for each step of delivery. The most common ones:
| Term | Seller delivers… | Buyer arranges… |
|---|---|---|
| EXW (Ex Works) | at the factory / warehouse | loading, export, freight, insurance, import |
| FOB (Free On Board) | loaded on the vessel at the Turkish port | sea freight, insurance, import |
| CIF (Cost, Insurance & Freight) | to the destination port, with freight and insurance paid | unloading, import clearance, inland transport |
| DAP (Delivered At Place) | to your named address, not unloaded | import duties and clearance |
For first orders, CIF or DAP make budgeting easier; experienced importers with their own forwarder often prefer FOB or EXW.
Documents you will usually receive
- Commercial invoice
- Packing list (weights and dimensions per package)
- Certificate of origin (important for customs duty in some countries)
- Bill of lading (sea) or CMR (road) / air waybill (air)
- Product certificates and declarations where required
Your customs broker will tell you exactly which documents your country needs — share the list with the supplier early.
Packaging and transport
Stainless steel equipment should travel protected by film, corner protection and wooden crates or pallets, especially for sea freight. Combining a full kitchen into one container is usually the most economical option and reduces handling damage.
After-sales support and spare parts
The real cost of equipment appears after installation. Before choosing a supplier, ask:
- Are spare parts available for export, and how fast are they shipped?
- Can the supplier identify parts from photos of the nameplate?
- Is there a warranty, and how are claims handled across borders?
This is where many imports go wrong — and why we put spare parts at the centre of our service. Read our maintenance and spare parts guide.
A simple import checklist
- Send your floor plan, menu and utility details (voltage, phase, gas type)
- Receive and approve the equipment list and quotation
- Agree the Incoterm, payment terms and lead time
- Confirm certificates and documents needed for your country
- Production, quality check and photo confirmation before loading
- Shipping, customs clearance and installation
- Keep nameplate photos of every appliance for future spare parts
Frequently asked questions
Can I order a single item, or only full kitchens?
Both. Single items and spare parts can be shipped by air or courier; complete kitchens are usually consolidated into one container.
Can equipment be produced in custom sizes?
Stainless steel items such as work tables, sinks, shelving and hoods are often produced to measure. Share your dimensions when requesting a quote.
