The exhaust hood removes heat, smoke and grease. When filters clog, extraction drops, the kitchen gets hot and grease collects in the duct. Regular cleaning prevents all of it.

Filters: the daily job
Hoods with filters, such as our wall-mounted hood with filters and island hood with filters, trap grease before it reaches the duct. Take the filters out, soak them in hot water with degreaser and rinse. Dry them before refitting.
Hood surfaces
- Wipe stainless steel along the grain with warm water and mild detergent.
- Avoid steel wool and chlorine cleaners.
- Clean the grease channel and collection cup.

Hoods without filters
Hoods without filters, like the wall-mounted hood without filters, are used above steam and heat sources such as dishwashers. They still need regular wiping and a check of the duct connection.
Warning signs
- Grease dripping from the hood edge
- Reduced suction or smoke escaping into the kitchen
- Unusual fan noise or vibration
- A strong smell of stale grease
